I AM NOT    

This project emphasizes the idea of separating identity from disability. We are hoping to raise awareness about assumptions people may make when they discuss or interact with those with disabilities. We want to express the importance of separating an individual’s identity from their disability, particularly with students, faculty, and parents. This includes word choice and unconscious assumptions individuals may make. It’s up to us to mentally decide to be aware of how our assumptions affect those with disabilities.
